My wife and I live in Paramus, we both grew up in Bergen County and now we take great pride in raising our 2 boy's in Bergen as well.  Every year we take them to Demarest Farms in Hillsdale.  This year my wife caught a photo of our youngest, enjoying what he had just picked right off the tree, a huge Golden Delicious apple.

The idea that as Bergen County residents we don't have to drive an hour or more away to get quality fruits and enjoy the beautiful fall day's. To have such a variety and not to mention the great grilled sandwiches, fresh baked pies, donuts and of course that delicious apple cider.

My wife and I grew up in the day's Tice and Van Riper Farms in Montvale and we can't believe that they are nothing more than a great memory from our childhood now.  I hope that other residents of Bergen take the time to visit Demarest Farms and see what "Local" is all about and keep a GREAT local farm Alive for our children and the future of Bergen County!
